Q. What do I need to start live broadcasting?

To begin broadcasting live video, you need:
  • A webcam or video capture device connected to your computer and functioning properly.
  • A CamWebTown Account
  • Installed Macromedia Flash 8 or up.

  • Q. Where can my broadcast be viewed?

All live public broadcasts can be viewed at view live webcam section of community area. Also after starting live broadcasting, You will see view live broadcasting button to view your broadcasting.

    Q. Why do I need to answer following question?

The CamWebTown Flash application you are viewing has requested access to the camera and/or microphone available on your computer, from now until the application ends. Note that CamWebTown has created the application you are requesting such access, not Adobe. Please Click on Allow button to start CamWebTown application to record or live broadcasting.

It's important to understand that even though this dialog box is part of Adobe Flash Player, the audio and video will be used by CamWebTown application.

    Q. What happens if I select Allow?

If you select Allow, the CamWebTown application can capture what your camera sees and your microphone hears, until you close the application. The application may want to broadcast the video and audio to other people who are viewing or hearing the CamWebTown application you are running — for example, WebCam recording and live broadcasting.

If you select Deny, the CamWebTown application does not have access to your camera or your microphone. The CamWebTown application will continue running, but may not function as intended. Alternately, the application may inform you that it can't continue unless you allow access, in which case you can either allow access or close the CamWebTown application.

    Q. How can I customize WebCam/Microphone setting via Flash Player?

Camera settings let you select a video camera to use with Adobe Flash Player. The pop-up menu displays all the cameras that Flash Player finds on your computer. Flash Player automatically detects any video cameras on your computer and displays the name of the default camera it will use.

If you do not select another camera from the pop-up menu, Flash Player uses the default camera. To see a live display of the image being detected by the default camera, click the Video Preview area.

Microphone settings allow you to select a microphone, adjust its sensitivity, and reduce the echo that may be coming from your speakers.

What happens if I do nothing?
Adobe Flash Player automatically detects any default microphone or other audio recorder on your computer, and sets microphone sensitivity to a medium value. Note that the Flash Player asks your permission before allowing an application to access your camera or microphone. See Privacy Pop-Up Question.
